Khalid at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre

Seeing Khalid at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill felt like the perfect summer night concert. The second he came out, the crowd was already singing louder than the speakers. Khalid’s music has always had that laid back, emotional feel to it, and hearing songs like “Location,” “Talk,” and “Better” live just hit differently with everyone singing together outside as the sun went down.

What I liked most about the show was how natural everything felt. He wasn’t trying too hard or forcing big moments he just got up there, sounded great, and connected with the crowd the entire night. Between songs he joked around, smiled nonstop, and genuinely looked like he was having fun being there. You could tell the crowd loved him too because people were singing every word back to him all night long.

The slower songs were probably my favorite part of the night. Once the lights from everyone’s phones started filling the amphitheater, the whole place felt calm for a minute before jumping right back into the upbeat songs. It never felt overproduced or fake. It just felt like a really good night with good music and good energy all around. By the end of the set, nobody wanted to leave, and honestly it felt like Khalid didn’t want the night to end either.
