The Wrecks At St Andrews Hall
On May 8th, The Wrecks brought their high-energy indie-pop-punk sound to St. Andrew’s Hall in Detroit, and it was everything you’d expect from a band known for their electrifying live shows. They kicked things off with “Sonder,” setting the tone for a night full of anthemic tunes, crowd-surfing, and plenty of loud, catchy songs. From the moment they hit the stage, the crowd was all in—singing, dancing, and feeding off the band’s infectious energy. It was the perfect opener, drawing everyone into their chaotic, yet controlled, vibe.
St. Andrew’s Hall proved to be the ideal setting for this kind of show—intimate enough for the band to really connect with the crowd, but still with enough space for the energy to explode. Tracks like “L.A. Lights” and “Normal” had the crowd going wild, and frontman Nick Anderson did what he does best: engaging the audience and keeping the excitement at a fever pitch. The connection between the band and the fans felt effortless, and it was clear that both were thriving off the high energy in the room.
By the end of the night, as they wrapped up with “Freaking Out” and “Favorite Liar,” it was obvious that The Wrecks had given everything they had. The crowd kept chanting for more, but the band had already left it all on stage. If you missed this show, don’t make the same mistake next time—The Wrecks are an absolute must-see live act.
