I See Stars Sold Out Home Town Show

Saturday, April 4, fans flocked to see I See Stars at their sold-out Detroit date, which coincided with the end of the tour. Along for the ride: Mothica, Until I Wake, and DIAMANTE.

Unfortunately, the rain didn't hold out for those of us still relegated to the line outside, so we missed most of DIAMANTE's set as a result. We caught the back half of her set, performing "Ghost Myself" and "Silver Bullet," which had the crowd savoring every word.

With intensity came Until I Wake. Cody Jamison commanded the crowd with his eyes tucked underneath his baseball cap, and the guitars shredding and drums pulsating. Crowd surfers started to pop up, creating an atmosphere of amped proportions during songs like "Octane," "Pressure," and "Self-Medicated."

Mothica was truthfully our favorite set. Haunting vocals with sound radiating louder than you'd expect, Mothica entranced fans as she performed "Toxins," "Buzzkill," and even a remix of Bring Me The Horizon's "Can You Feel My Heart." After the set, you could hear those who hadn't seen her before gushing about how they may have just found their new favorite artist (we're in that category).

And, of course, Michigan's own I See Stars. When hometown shows happen, it feels electric because most of the people we've connected with over the years happen to all converge at this point. While some of us claim to know them, and others are exposed not due to the proximity of local knowledge, everyone in the room reaches this collective moment where the music fuses into something more, an experience that almost feels tangible.

The band combatted smoke machines and dark lighting through thrashes and screams. With either phones in the air or hands swaying, it's clear this band means something to people. 19 songs in, bodies were sweating and swaying, and fans got to witness songs like "New Demons," "D4MAGE DONE," and of course, favorites "Murder Mitten" and "Anomaly."

There was also an afterparty that many attended, as they didn't want the night to end.

What's next for I See Stars? As of right now, we're not sure. We do know that frontman Devin Oliver recently launched a new project called @mercymercymercy, with which he just released a song with Krewella, so we'll be looking forward to seeing where that goes.

In the meantime, we hope everyone in the band, as well as their tour partners, take some time to rest and unwind.
