Volbeat and Halestorm Bring Rock Heat to Pine Knob

Last week at Pine Knob in Michigan, Volbeat rolled through town with a set that gave fans exactly what they came for loud guitars, big choruses, and plenty of energy. Michael Poulsen’s voice carried easily across the amphitheater, and the band moved smoothly between heavier tracks and the songs that had the crowd singing along the loudest. When they hit “A Warrior’s Call” and closed out with “Still Counting,” the whole place was on its feet, proving why those songs have become staples in their live shows.

Halestorm opened the night and wasted no time grabbing the crowd’s attention. Lzzy Hale’s vocals were as strong as ever, cutting through with power and emotion, while the rest of the band kept the set tight and driving. Fans were more than ready to sing along to songs like “Love Bites (So Do I)” and “I Miss the Misery,” and the energy in the pit set the tone for the rest of the evening.

Together, Halestorm and Volbeat made for a strong double bill that kept the momentum going from start to finish. With a late summer night as the backdrop, the show felt like the kind of rock concert Pine Knob is built for loud, packed, and full of fans who didn’t want it to end.
