Jesse McCartney at The Fillmore Detroit
The Fillmore was packed with people ready to relive a little piece of the 2000s as Jesse McCartney brought his tour to Detroit. Before he hit the stage, the night kicked off with Ana Sky a former scientist turned singer making her first run on tour. She had this calm, curious energy that drew people in right away. Her songs mixed catchy pop beats with a bit of introspection, and by the end of her set, the crowd was clearly on her side. It’s rare to see an opener win people over that quickly, but she pulled it off.
When Jesse came out the whole crowd erupted. He moved through a mix of old favorites and newer tracks, looking completely at ease in front of a crowd that’s grown up with him. There was a sense of fun and familiarity in the air like everyone in the room had shared a few teenage memories soundtracked by his voice. My favorite part of the night came when he sang “Beautiful Soul.” The entire crowd sang every word right back to him. It wasn’t just a performance. You could feel how much that song still means to people, even after all these years. Everyone sang it with all of their hearts.
By the end of the show, Jesse proved he’s not just holding onto nostalgia he’s still growing, still evolving, and still connecting with fans in a real way. Between Ana Sky’s impressive debut and Jessie’s timeless energy, it was one of those nights that reminded everyone why pop music like this never really fades away.
