Fresh off of winning Hip Hop Album of the Year at the 2021 iHeart Radio Music Awards, Lil Baby joins Lil Durk in dropping their heavily anticipated joint project called The Voice of the Heroes.

The album, which features a slew of big names including Travis Scott, Meek Mill, Young Thug, and Rod Wave also has been getting buzz off the mic, as NBA Superstar James Harden is listed as the executive producer on the album. According to the press release, Harden played a big role in the inception of the project given how much time Lil Baby spent in Harden’s studio to record.

The new track has a cinematic component, Directed by Daps, entitled “How It Feels,” which shows Lil Baby and Lil Durk playing the role of ‘Robin Hood,’ redistributing wealth from the overly wealthy and glutinous 1% and returning that money to the streets. The mini-movie helps tell a story beyond the lyrics, yet makes the song all the more intriguing.

Asking Alexandria Signs with Better Noise Music
aa.png

Today, leading independent label and artist development company Better Noise Music signs globally acclaimed rock band Asking Alexandria to its all-star roster. The new UK deal, announced by Better Noise President Dan Waite from the label’s U.K. office, starts this month with the band already in the studio working on new music, which is expected to be released later this year.

aaa.png

“Today we welcome Asking Alexandria into the Better Noise Music label, and we are thrilled to join them on the next chapter of their musical journey,” Waite said. “The fact that Asking Alexandria are from the U.K. with a worldwide audience, gives us the opportunity to deepen their strong connections with fans on both a local and international level across Better Noise Music’s global offices. As a global touring act they have over one billion cumulative streams and views, and we look forward to building on that success.”

Ben Bruce, founding member of Asking Alexandria and lead guitarist, spoke on behalf of the band in a statement, saying, “We are all extremely excited to be part of the passionate team at Better Noise Music. Over the past ten years, we’ve been so grateful to connect with fans all over the world. While we’ve concentrated particularly on our North American fanbase in the past, our goal for the future is that our music and live shows become more accessible to audiences on a global scale. That is why we jumped at the chance to sign to Better Noise. Working with the team out of the label’s UK branch gives us the opportunity to be more connected as a band to our home country, while simultaneously working with all of their international offices to reach our goals. We are all extremely proud to hail from England and getting back in touch with our roots is something that is beyond exciting to us. We are more focused, more driven and more determined than ever before. Thank you to everyone who has helped us and supported us over the years. It truly means the world to us. Here’s to the future.”

Since 2008, Asking Alexandria, formed and based in the U.K., have paved a path of their own, distilling danger and excess into an equally dangerous hybrid of stadium rock ambition, metallic energy, and electronic ecstasy. Against all odds, they achieved unprecedented success earmarked by two gold-certified singles (namely, “Final Episode (Let’s Change The Channel)” and “Not The American Average”), over a billion cumulative streams and views, and three consecutive top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top 200—Reckless & Relentless [2011], From Death to Destiny [2013],and The Black [2016]. In addition to headlining packed gigs on five continents, they destroyed stages alongside Guns N’ Roses, Green Day, Avenged Sevenfold, Alice In Chains, and Slipknot, to name a few. Meanwhile, 2017’s self-titled Asking Alexandria spawned two of the group’s biggest singles to date: “Alone In A Room” (40 million Spotify streams) and “Into the Fire” (30 million Spotify streams).  The quintet—Ben Bruce [guitar, backing vocals], Danny Worsnop [lead vocals], James Cassells [drums], Cameron Liddell [guitar], and Sam Bettley [bass]—recently saw critical acclaim with their 2020 sixth full-length LP, Like A House On FireWorsnoprecently collaborated with Better Noise artist Papa Roach for their track “Broken As Me,” which appeared on the band’s Greatest Hits, Vol. 2: The Better Noise Years, released in March.

Diony Sepulveda, veteran talent executive and the band’s manager added, “Asking Alexandria accomplished a lot in their first decade, and most of it was done on instinct, guts, heart and pure drive.  But while the band is already part of the hard rock culture in America, they wanted more, especially internationally.  At a time where information and analytics play an ever-increasingly crucial role in the record business, the Better Noise team has cracked the code on obtaining key data from their digital partners, analyzing it efficiently, translating it to the artist, and utilizing it to help maximize and grow the band’s digital footprint.  So we jumped at the chance to see what their team could do to help elevate the band on a global level.  I truly cannot wait for the world to experience the results of this exciting new partnership.”

Better Noise reached a historic radio victory in 2020, when Mediabase named it the number one rock label for the third consecutive year in the U.S., and Billboardcrowned it the top mainstream rock label of the year.

“Sticky” is the first single from The Maine’s upcoming eighth studio LP, XOXO: From Love And Anxiety In Real Time due out on July 9, 2021 via Photo Finish Records.

The acoustic version of “Sticky” offers a more intimate and gentle take on the song. This more raw version of “Sticky” turns the song into a thoughtful and graceful love song.

Detroit's own WITHOUT END Releases New Single "SAVE YOU"
unnamed-5.jpg

Hard Rock/Metal band WITHOUT END released their new single "Save You" to all major platforms today. The single was produced by Nick Reitman.

“We chose Save You as the first single to be released because this song holds a special place with us and our past and we wanted to touch on the subject of depression because we feel it affects so many people around us on a day-to-day basis… and most of the time the struggle is internalized rather than reaching out for help” says the band's vocalist Alex Osip.

Arising from the city of Detroit, hard rock/metal quartet Without End erupted onto the scene captivating audiences with their high-energy performances, melodic riffs and shredding solos. Without End released their debut EP Revenge For The Fallen on Feb 1st, 2015. The EP was recorded at Metro 37 Recording Studio in Rochester Hills and mixed and mastered by Kevin Sharpe. "Cryout", the bands' first single garnered the band a lot of early attention. On July 16th, 2016 Without Endreleased their second EP entitled Creature Of Habit, which produced the bands second single "Creature of Habit" which again garnered them some early attention around Michigan. The record was produced, mixed and mastered by Nick Reitman at Giza Studios in Chesterfield, MI. The band supported their second effort with shows alongside TraptSaliva, and Famous Last Words.

After a 2 year hiatus, on October 9th, 2020 the band released a music video for 2016 single "Creature Of Habit", which featured the bands new look and line up. The band has announced plans to tour in the near future and that they are working on new music set to come out sometime in 2021. The band currently consists of Alex Osip (vocals/guitar), Chris Silence (Sallans) (vocals/guitar), Steven Schuler (vocals/bass), and Stevie Bertetto (drums).

GWAR’s “Disc With No Name” Out Now

GWAR’s latest opus “Disc With No Name,” is out today on Pit Records. The band worked tirelessly on this acoustic masterpiece during last year’s “GWARantine,” and it is finally available for puny pathetic human ears.

Blóthar the Berserker says “When Sleazy P. Martini suggested we do something “unplugged” I was confused. It took me forever to get it plugged in the first place. Turns out he wanted us to record a few GWAR tunes, stripped down to chords, harmony and emotion. Now that I understand what’s going on, I’m thrilled with the project. I was finally able to release my inner Joni Mitchell. I swallowed her years ago, and she’s been living in my belly ever since.”

More breaking GWAR news; the band’s new Ragnarök Rye is available in stores today.

Stay tuned for more info from GWAR including updates on new music and fall touring plans.

GLASS ANIMALS RELEASE TOKYO DRIFTING (OLIVER MALCOLM REMIX)
unnamed-4.jpg

As parts of the US welcome the first heat wave of the summer, Glass Animals continue to make waves across the globe, having recently performed at the Billboard Music Awards (watch here), released the formidable ‘Space Ghost Coast To Coast’ featuring Bree Runway, collaborated with cult Peanut Butter brand Jackpot to raise money for Music Venues Trust, announced their upcoming Good Morning America Summer Concert Series performance on July 20th, hit #15 at Top 40 radio and today, the critically acclaimed British band drop the remix of ‘Tokyo Drifting’ with Oliver Malcolm.

Oliver Malcolm is the rising artist and producer who taught himself how to produce from the age of 12 – having worked with the likes of IDK, Aluna George, Joey Bada$$, Jay Rock, Masego, Tinashe and more. Glass Animal’s frontman Dave Bayley invited Oliver onto his inimitable ‘Cereal Bars’ series, having heard the remix by chance and realizing it deserved its own release. On ‘Cereal Bars’, Dave creates beats while his favourite up-and-coming artists write lyrics in the theme of sugary treats, previously starring BENEE and Easy Life’s Murray. The series has pulled in fans from across the globe and is a testament to Dave’s remarkable production talent.

Sublime Celebrates 25th Anniversary of Iconic Self-Titled Album
unnamed (2).jpg

Southern California’s reggae-punk pioneers Sublime are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their iconic self-titled album that spawned timeless hits like “What I Got,” “Santeria,” and “Wrong Way.” Fans can expect numerous special releases, events and new merch to celebrate the 25th anniversary, including a virtual plaque ceremony to commemorate over 18 million in album consumption in the U.S. according to MRC, limited-edition AleSmith Sublime Mexican Lager cans, a graphic novel by Z2 Comics called SUBLIME: $5 At the Door, new music videos for “Garden Grove” and “Pawn Shop” and much more.

Plaques will be presented to commemorate over 18 million in album consumption in the U.S. according to MRC to Sublime members drummer Bud Gaugh, bassist Eric Wilson and vocalist Bradley Nowell, which will be accepted on his behalf by widow Troy DenDekker and son Jakob Nowell. The presentation will be available to stream on YouTube.

Sublime partnered with Z2 Comics to create SUBLIME: $5 AT THE DOOR, a graphic novel that will be released in standard soft and hardcover editions in comic shops and bookstores alike in June 2021. Featuring brand-new cover artwork by SUBLIME family members OPIE ORTIZ and DJ PRODUCT ©1969, a

special deluxe edition and highly limited super deluxe edition are available for preorder now exclusively through the Z2 website. Deluxe and super deluxe edition include a special first-time vinyl edition of the “Doin’ Time” EP, unavailable elsewhere, as well as exclusive prints, Lou-Dog toy and more!

AleSmith Brewing Company has released a batch of limited-edition cans of Sublime Mexican Lager featuring the new artwork from the band’s OG sun artist, Opie Ortiz that’s also featured on the cover of the graphic novel. Fans can get their hands on these limited-release 19.2oz. cans at the AleSmith Tasting Room and select retailers in California.

Official music videos for fan favorites “Garden Grove” and “Pawn Shop” to be released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Sublime (Gasoline Alley/MCA/UMe) and can be viewed here: https://sublime.lnk.to/25thAnniversary. The “Garden Grove” video was shot as a “love letter” to the Long Beach lifestyle featuring the faces and places of LBC, showcasing all of the different people Sublime’s music brings together. The “Pawn Shop” video is animated in the style of psychedelic-surfer-punk-graffiti, inspired by late-night edgy animations with Sublime’s iconography morphing throughout.

Travis Barker will produce covers, remixes and collaborate with artists of all genres to reimagine various Sublime songs from the iconic self-titled album.

"We're not trying to write punk rock. We're not trying to write reggae. We're not trying to write ska," Sublime's Bradley Nowell told KROQ in 1995. "We're just trying to write a good song." They did exactly that—time and time again. "What I Got," "Santeria," "Wrong Way," and "Doin' Time" remain innovative staples from the '90s alternative boom. But they accomplished even more: In less than a decade within the national limelight, the laid-back Long Beach trio spawned an entire genre—fusing reggae grooves, punk grittiness, ska energy, back porch folk introspection, and hip-hop swagger. Decades after the tragic death of singer-songwriter Bradley Nowell, Sublime remain an institution: They've sold over 18 million albums to date; and their merchandise, emblazoned with the iconic sun logo, dominates sales at retailers including Target, Urban Outfitters and Spencer Gifts. Most importantly, the music remains timeless—a rite of passage for misfit listeners who refuse to color within the lines of conventional genre.
