The Suicide Machines are opening for The Descendents in Detroit

Detroit punk legends The Suicide Machines are set to open for The Descendents Friday April 21.

For tickets click here.

During the course of their career the band released six full-length albums on the labels Hollywood Records and Side One Dummy Records. Though they experienced several lineup changes over the years, founding members Jason Navarro and Dan Lukacinsky remained regular fixtures. The band's musical style initially blended elements of punk rock, ska, and hardcore into a genre popularly known as ska punk or "ska-core," which characterized their first two albums. During the middle of their career they shifted gears, moving away from this sound and producing two albums with a heavy pop rock influence. Their final two albums moved back towards their mid-1990s style, bringing back heavy ska punk and hardcore elements.

Teenage Bottlerocket are back on FAT Wreck Chords!

Teenage Bottlerocket have reunited with Fat Wreck Chords after three years and one record later of being on Rise Records. After the untimely death of their drummer Brandon Carlisle Teenage Bottlerocket have teamed up with Darren Chewka of Old Wives and was announced as the band's new drummer. Read what guitarist/vocalist, Ray Bottlerocket had to say about their upcoming year, which is sure to be massive:

Fat Mike once told me, “Teenage Bottlerocket will always be a Fat band.” Guess what? Our new record, that we begin recording at the Blasting Room on March 5th, will be released on Fat Wreck Chords sometime this summer! We have always had a tight relationship with Fat and we are looking forward to working with them again. 2017 is going to be a busy year for TBR; we hit the road with Mr. T Experience in early April for a stint in California and Arizona. We are also shredding a one off at Reggie’s in Chicago, one of our favorite cities to play rock music. Personally, I’m looking forward to the March 31st show in Denver which is Brandon and I’s birthday. Playing a hometown show in Laramie, Wyoming on the 1st of April, that’s no joke! We’re heading back to Japan for the first time since 2009. I know I’m leaving out some shows so stay tuned for more tour announcements. Fully stoked! Stoked for the sick sesh!

Love. -Ray
King 810 cancel show at St Andrews Hall in Detroit due to gun ban

Flint Michigan's King 810 decided to cancel their Detroit show at St Andrews hall due to the fact they could not bring their firearms into the venue.

King 810 statement about the cancellations:

"The Family,

We're canceling tonight's show at Saint Andrew's Hall here in Detroit. Upon arrival, every case we were carrying was wanded and searched. All of us are we're searched and re-searched every time we entered the venue, which we were fine with.

During this process they let us know that they don't do this to other groups and that essentially they were singling us out. After informing them that a few people in the group are licensed to carry for security measures we were still not allowed to come onto their property with protection. Michigan is an open carry state.

We've made this stand completely clear.
We had every intention on playing and were looking forward to the show, as the biggest one of our careers to date. This is not an easy decision to make, but we have to answer to ourselves first and foremost.

This is not about shows or weapons.
This is about our inherent rights. They will surely try to sweep this under the rug and spun as "unforeseen circumstances." But we tell the truth to the people.

These people tried to tell us police officers can't even carry guns into their establishment.

If this is where this country is headed. God damn.

More soon.

- Gunn"

YELLOWCARD Announce Last Album and Final World Tour

“When saying farewell, it is hard to know where to start, especially when there are so many reasons not to say it, but the time has come to share this news,” said YELLOWCARD in a unified statement. “After countless discussions and months of thought, we have decided that it is time for Yellowcard to come to an end. This will be our last album and our final world tour.”

With this statement, YELLOWCARD have announced that the band will be releasing their final self-titled album on September 30, 2016 on Hopeless Records and embark on “The Final World Tour”, kicking off on October 6 in San Antonio, TX. “We wanted to have the chance to share our farewell with as many fans around the world as we could, and now is the right time to do just that.”

YELLOWCARD was a very personal journey for the band that was self-produced by Ryan Key and guitarist Ryan Mendez with long-time ally and close friend Neal Avron close by as Executive Producer. “The motivation behind this was to make sure these songs came from a place that was deeply rooted in us,” they explain about taking the reins and crafting it from top to bottom. “We wanted to push ourselves to create a lasting finale for this incredible story on our own. It is also why we chose to self-title the album. We were lucky to still have our friend and mentor, Neal Avron, on board as Executive Producer. We’ve made one of the strongest records of our career and a fitting final creative piece.”

Pre-orders for YELLOWCARD begin today at www.yellowcardrock.com which includes an instant download of the opening track “Rest in Peace”. Pre-sale VIP packages for the tour are also available now. Public on sale will begin June 28th.

As the band spends their summer on the Vans Warped Tour before launching into their final stretch, they are especially appreciative to the fans that have been there every step of the way. “We will be forever grateful to Yellowcard fans all over the world for the opportunities you have given us. We have played shows for nearly two decades on six continents and had the chance to keep recording the music we love year after year. While it is with sadness that we say goodbye, it is with gratitude and amazement that we look back on a career we can be proud of, and were so very lucky to have had.”

YELLOWCARD will be released on September 30, 2016 via Hopeless RecordsYellowcard is Ryan Key (vocals, guitars), Sean Mackin (violins), Ryan Mendez (guitar), and Josh Portman (bass).
